Child's Rockin' Potty
New England, 1760-1800

A child's white pine "rockin' potty" from the eighteenth century. This is nailed with large T head handmade nails and the rockers are mortised and tenoned to the body. There are shaped arm rests, a hand hold cut out and double slots in the back, probably for threading a safety belt. Never painted, it has achieved a desirable attic patina. Back crack.
